Anne Saxon
Founder, Managing Artistic Director & Conductor
Anne M. Saxon is the Founding Artistic Director of the Winston-Salem Girls Chorus and Director of the Children’s Choir Program at Centenary United Methodist Church. She has served numerous churches and schools in the NC Triad area, teaching all levels of chorus and general music.
Anne holds a Master of Music Degree in Choral Conducting from UNC Greensboro, and a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Greensboro College, Piano Applied. She has also earned a Level 3 Certification in Doreen Rao's Choral Music Experience, and Level 3 Certification in the Chorister’s Guild Institute. At UNCG she studied with Drs. Bill Carroll, Richard Cox, and Hilary Apfelstadt, and directed the Women’s Glee Club. She has completed further study in conducting with Paul Salamunovich, Anton Armstrong, Lynne Gackle, and Henry Leck.
Anne is currently the Awards & Luncheon Chair of the NC Chapter of the American Choral Director’s Association. She has served as a Past President and Executive Director, and her work as the Newsletter Editor garnered two national awards. An active member of the NC Music Educators' Association, she has been a festival site coordinator and served on the Middle School Choral Board for several years. Anne has been honored with a Commemorative Brick on the MENC “Walk of Fame” for her 25 years of participation at the NC Summer Institute in Choral Arts. She is a frequent guest conductor and collaborative pianist for Honor and Festival Choirs, and an adjudicator for choral festivals.

Suzanne Maggs, Assistant Director
Suzanne Maggs currently directs the 3rd - 5th grade chorus at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts Community Music School. This season she is also directing our training choir, UPBEAT!, in addition to assisting with Lyrica & Encore.
Suzanne is a certified Kindermusik Educator and a graduate of Forsyth Technical College. She has completed three levels of Dalcroze-Eurthythmics Instruction and is a member of the American Choral Director’s Association and the Chorister’s Guild. She sang with our chorus during the first six years of our organization and has participated in countless choral performances, festivals and tours. She currently sings in Centenary UMC’s Adult Chancel Choir, is a lifeguard and a swimming instructor, and works at 5 Loaves Catering.

Cynthia Saylor, Collaborative Pianist
Cynthia Saylor joined the Chorus Staff as our collaborative pianist in the fall of 2004. She brings with her a life-long passion and dedication to music and accompanying. Cynthia is a former Medical Technologist at Novant Health, and Music Director of both Fountain of Life Lutheran and Parkway Presbyterian Churches. Cynthia accompanies all of our choirs at WSGC and we truly appreciate her talents!
